application interstitial campaigns
interstitial advertisements are a special case of rule driven campaigns whose display is triggered by the launching or closing of a specific application
An interstitial is a gap-filler and is used where subscribers start or stop engaging with a particular activity on the handset.
interstitial-campaigns
interstitial campaigns are particularly useful at targeting a user engaged in a particular activity in order to cross-sell.
A typical campaign is controlled by a tight set of rules, is shown only once and represents a high-value transaction.
In most cases, the rules that govern the behaviour of an interstitial campaign can be generated using our server-side template engine.
use cases
On launching or closing of an application, an interstitial is triggered and this usually causes a full-screen Popup campaign to be displayed. Because this type of UI can be intrusive, these type of campaigns are usually only used in 'high value' scenarios and the campaigns only ever execute once.
These type of campaigns are useful in scenarios such as:
- One-Time Configuration
- When the handset SIM card is changed, prompt the user to change their advertising preferences and profile information.
- App Cross Promotion
- When a user runs app A and app B is not installed, suggest that the user may wish to download app B.
- App Rental
- When a user runs a 'trial' app that has been installed for more than 30 days, display a full-screen overlay.
availability
Support for interstitial campaigns is limited to the PACE client for Series 60 handsets. We do not currently support this feature on the PACE client for Android handsets.
benefits
PACE interstitial campaigns provide a powerful tool that designers can use to create closely-targeted, high-impact, high-value display advertisements on the handset.
