World Weather for PACE

WHAT IT DOES

World Weather for PACE provides both local and international weather details direct to your handset's screensaver and home-screen.

Weather data includes:

  • Observed temperature, conditions, wind speed and direction, pressure and trend.
  • Forecast high and low temperature and conditions

To give you the best local weather, the client determines where you are and finds the closest forecast to you.

In addition to this, weather details for approximately 100 world cities are provided through beautiful animated screensaver, home-screen, lock screen and application views

NETWORK USAGE

World Weather for PACE uses your handset's data connection to download weather forecast data from our server.

  • For each update, approximately 7kB of data is downloaded.
  • By default, the app updates its weather database every two hours unless your handset is completely idle.
  • If your handset is idle, the client only updates the weather forecast once every day.

The client may also choose to bring forward a forecast update when you:

  • Manually open a data session. For example, if you open your browser, the client may piggyback on this data session.
  • Make a telephone call on the 3G network.

These two techniques are used to reduce battery drain.

YOUR PRIVACY

World Weather for PACE uses the following features of your mobile telephone:

  • Your Location is determined on either from your handset's Cell ID, IP Address or via GPS. It is used by our server to determine the closest weather forecast to you.
  • Your Contact List is used to determine the address of the other party in a telephone call and to build a list of important places. This information is used to personalise weather forecasts in the app. This information is not passed to our server.
  • Phone Numbers may be used to ‘guess’ the location of the other party in a telephone call to provide an in-call weather forecast. This information is not passed to our server.

Requests made to our server are logged and we retain logs for a six month period. We log all of the information noted above as well as:

  • Your handset make, model, firmware version and IMEI.
  • The version of your PACE client.

We never share or sell any personal information with third-parties.
